Reporting to the Associate Vice President of University Relations, the Marketing Department exists to help drive and support initiatives, campaigns and projects designed to achieve student enrolment goals. As a key group of brand champions, the team plays an important role in raising the visibility of the CBU brand to ultimately grow and diversify student enrolment.
 
JOB OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Specialist supports the design, development and execution of CBU’s marketing strategies to support CBU’s student enrolment goals. The Marketing Specialist works closely with the Strategic Communications Department to create content for CBU’s official social media accounts that grow, engage, retain, and generate leads. Additionally, the Marketing Specialist works closely with both domestic and international recruitment teams and internal and external stakeholders to support brand management and implement enrolment marketing plans.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enrolment Marketing
    • Support the domestic and international recruitment teams to develop marketing collateral required for their designated regions, territories and planned events
    • Develop and execute enrolment campaigns to generate leads, drive applications and increase conversion and report back on weekly/monthly progress
    • Sit on various university planning committees to provide marketing advice and support
    • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including school deans, faculty and staff and other departments to plan and execute enrolment focused projects and events
    • Liaise with external stakeholders to assist with the execution of marketing projects and other supporting needs
    • Manage and guide student brand ambassadors to execute peer-to-peer marketing campaigns
Digital Marketing
  • Execute, implement and nurture digital marketing strategies for various audiences to increase brand awareness, lead generation, enrolment and brand loyalty
  • Drive the voice of the CBU brand across different digital platforms to increase brand awareness, lead generation, enrolment and brand loyalty
  • Assist Content Strategist with the development of CBU.ca including but not limited to web copy, blog writing, content creation, SEO and keyword search and maintain a visual on brand presence
  • Curate a shared CMS to ensure consistency of brand images and digital assets across numerous channels
  • Manage and maintain CBU’s online virtual tour including maintenance, updates, optimization with a focus on inbound practices
  • Build and manage a rich digital content calendar that aligns with CBU’s marketing strategies, campaigns and strategic recruitment events.
  • Set measurable KPI’s to make data driven insights to optimize digital marketing initiatives, projects and strategies
  • Participate in the creative development of projects and campaigns
Social Media Marketing
  • Acts as a main point of contact for social media inquiries and communicates directly with various audiences with up-to-date and relevant institutional knowledge
  • Supports the Communications and Social Media Specialist in executing CBU’s social media strategy and creating on brand content, optimized for social media and other digital channels
  • Listen and engage in relevant social discussion about CBU and post-secondary education
  • Create, manage, adapt and report on paid advertising campaigns
  • Regularly collects, analyzes, summarizes and interprets campaign performance and analytics into actionable insights while considering how to enhance performance
  • All other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in marketing, public relations, communications and/or related. University degree preferred. Candidates with significant related experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years digital and social media marketing experience and ability to demonstrate consistent competency across all various social media channels including, but not limited to, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Have managed Pay Per Click (PPC) campaigns and used Google Analytics to create reports and inform marketing decisions.
  • Experience with digital marketing campaigns and a solid foundation in SEO and SEM principles.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to write on brand messaging depending on the audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and numerous projects concurrently in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
  • Confidence to communicate on social platforms in a consistent, on-brand voice and to make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience creating and writing strategic content (blogging, guides, emails, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of marketing automation and prospect nurturing processes through email, content, and social channels.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress, Microsoft Suite (SharePoint, Planner, Teams), Google Suite (Analytics, Tag Manager, Search Console) and Ellucian Suite is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the post-secondary environment is a definite asset.
  • Experience in international marketing is considered an asset.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and/or weekends.
