CBU invites applications for the role of Records Management Technician in the Library and Cultural Resources Department. This is a Full-Time Continuing Role.

The successful candidate will be apart of the Beaton Institute, reporting to the University Records Officer, this team provide an essential support service to the management and staff, committees and academic schools, and departments and its sub-units. The technician role will assists in the operations and maintenance of the records management systems for the collection, classification, retrieval and retention of records, image (still and moving) files and audio files, documents (paper, electronic and born digital), and institutional information.

The Library and Cultural Resources Department seeks a quick learner, independent but able to thrive in a collaborative team environment. Someone open to gain new knowledge and learn new technologies relevant to records and information management and have strong relationship building skills.

The successful candidates qualifications are, but not limited to, holding an undergraduate degree in a related field such as library science, information management, archival studies or a college program in Library and Information Technology or its equivalent. They will have a minimum of two years related experience, have knowledge of certain pieces of legislation and regulations applicable to records and information management such as FOIPOP, PIPEDA, Privacy laws, PHIA and relevant laws. As well as  posses reliable technology-based skills on textual records scanning devices, digital imaging technology, cloud storage systems, file sharing products, electronic filing software products, data scrubbers, shredding machines.
