Workplace Inclusion Charter (WIC) Program Manager
Term Position (May 5, 2021 to March 31, 2023)

The Cape Breton Partnership is Cape Breton-Unama’ki’s private sector-led economic development organization. In order to help build more welcoming and inclusive workplaces across the Island, the Partnership is launching the Workplace Inclusion Charter (WIC) and Recognition Program. To lead the WIC Program, the Cape Breton Partnership is looking for a driven multi-talented individual to fill the role of WIC Program Manager.

The WIC Program Manager will be responsible for managing all project activities and ensuring that timelines and deliverables associated with the Program are being met. They will lead a collaborative Charter development process and guide employer engagement. The WIC Program Manager will lead regular reporting and ongoing program evaluation.


  • Organize all WIC program activities in order to best achieve desired outcomes;
  • Design and implement a highly collaborative process for the development of the Workplace Inclusion Charter;
  • Foster strong relationships with community partners to ensure program alignment;
  • Prepare communication materials to promote and support the Charter;
  • Develop an evaluation method to identify program strengths and areas for improvement;
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations related to workplace diversity and inclusion;
  • Develop and implement employer recruitment and onboarding processes;
  • Organize employer recognition events and materials;
  • Leverage additional funds to expand and extend the Program; and
  • Other duties as assigned.


Working Conditions
The WIC Program Manager will work largely in an office environment and will work a standard work week (40 hours). As the Cape Breton Partnership has office locations across the Island, office location can be flexible.

  • This position is a term position from May 5, 2021 to March 31, 2023.
  • Salary range based on education and experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • University or college degree/diploma in a related discipline (e.g. Human Resources, Planning, Administration) or a minimum of three years of experience in program management;
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitation and collaboration to advance a project involving multiple stakeholders;
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills (English);
  • Strong understanding of inclusionary practice, ethical decision-making and respect for diversity;
  • Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills and the ability to be tactful and culturally sensitive in engagement with a wide range of partners and stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effectively with minimal direction;
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle; and
  • An ability to work outside regular business hours, as required.
