Description

  • Aid the Tour Boat Captain with narrating the nature tour.

  • Telling stories and teaching tourists about puffins, eagles, seals and other wildlife on the islands.

  • Talk to customers, answer questions, help them out

  • Caring for the passengers while on tour.

  • Assist Captain in Emergency procedures

  • Do some boat cleaning chores.

  • This job is in rural Cape Breton, in an area
    with no bus service. Reliable transportation is a requirement.

  • Often work with direct supervision

  • Semi-outdoors work, inside a covered boat, even when raining

Requirements
  • Some birding knowledge is an asset
  • Comfortable with public speaking.
  • Well Spoken, ability to memorize speeches
  • Customer Service, more specifically tourism related is an asset
  • Teamwork ability is important
  • Know a second language either French or German is an asset.
  • Have taken or willing to take Marine Emergency Duties course, 4-day in-person course
