Compensation Package: $80,000 - $100,000 based on experience (negotiable)

Anchored Recruiting is pleased to partner with BlueFloat Energy/BlueFloat Management Canada to find a Business Development Manager to join their growing team.

BlueFloat Energy is a company with a corporate vision accelerating the global deployment of offshore wind as a key enabler for the energy transition and economic growth by developing offshore wind energy projects in multiple geographies. The BlueFloat Energy team is already developing projects in several global markets, including here in Nova Scotia, and is actively expanding globally.

As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing business opportunities with strong technical and commercial understanding of renewables, working across multiple stakeholders which includes but is not limited to Legislators, Government Agencies, Bankers, Legal Advisors, First Nations, Fisherman, Communities, Environmental Groups, NGO’s, Communications Advisors, Universities and Colleges, Partners, and other Stakeholders.

Core Accountabilities:

  • Create strong and open relationships with all stakeholders
  • Work closely with consultants and contractors involved in project development (engineering firms, environmental consultants, stakeholder engagement consultants)
  • Prepare or supervise the redaction of permit applications to the various agencies and competent authorities through project development
  • Responsible for strategy execution and delivery of project and investment opportunities with strategic targets and operational budgets
  • Negotiate and manage the acquisition of new seabed leases for the purposes of project development
  • Collaborate in acquiring project permits and authorizations
  • Lead the team in engaging with First Nations, Fishermen, and all interested project stakeholders
  • Work in collaboration with BlueFloat’s technical, communications, business development, administrative and legal in-house team for development efforts in Canada
  • Assist in Call for Bids responses


  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience, with at least 4 years of experience in utility scale Renewable energy products
  • BSc/MSc in business/economics or Engineering. MBA highly valued
  • Proven track-record in executing and managing growth.
  • Relevant experience and in-depth knowledge of developing/constructing/operating energy infrastructure. Renewables and offshore wind projects are a plus.
  • Ability to interpret and present the terms and conditions contained within legal documents, comfortable with reading, reviewing, and negotiating contracts
  • Ability to develop and maintain a network amongst the government and private sector partners to influence change in the energy sector in Canada and regionally
  • Self- Motivated, positive, outgoing, and comfortable working both remotely and independently
  • Experience with meeting and engaging new people while maintaining a professional attitude during all engagements
  • Experience coordinating activities, workshops and training events, project-based reporting, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • National Travel Required, Criminal Record Check may be required.
