Description

The Old Sydney Society is looking for walking tour guides for the upcoming cruise ship season. As a guide, you’ll take a group of cruise ship passengers on a guided walking tour of the North End of Sydney, pointing out interesting and historic locales and relating stories of Sydney’s formative years.

Tour lengths vary from 90 minutes to two hours; depending on the tour, you will also wear period costume. Group sizes also vary, from 10 up to 25 clients per tour.

This position pays 15 dollars an hour, plus gratuities; each tour will require three hours of your time.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, and loves to tell a good story. They are comfortable speaking to a large group, and are able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Prior knowledge of Sydney’s and Cape Breton’s history is an asset, but not a requirement; we will provide training. Customer service experience is also an asset.
