Description
JOB SCOPE: Under the direction of the Supervisor of Wastewater Operations, performs a variety of skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance and repair of all facilities, equipment, and operating systems.
BARGAINING UNIT: CUPE Local 759 (Outside Workers)
SALARY: $28.64 / hour
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Must include copies of the items listed below)
- Environmental Engineering Technology diploma. Educational equivalents may
be considered.
- Certification in
NSECC Wastewater Treatment up to Level III with the ability to obtain Level III
once combination of education and experience is acquired. Certification in
NSECC Wastewater Collection Level II or the ability to obtain it within three
years in the position.
- Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s license.
- A combination of three years’ of directly related work experience in
water/wastewater accompanied by relevant education may be considered.
- A medical assessment including physical, vision, and hearing tests. Medical assessment must show the capacity of performing tasks of the classification (This is not required at time of application but will be required prior to hiring).
- Criminal Records Check verification is required
as a condition of employment. Vulnerable sector check may also be required for
those working with vulnerable populations.

- Emergency First Aid/CPR A/AED
- WHMIS/GHS 2015 Training
- Nova Scotia Confined Space Entrant Attendant Training
