The School of Nursing at Cape Breton University
(CBU) invite applications for 5 tenure-track
position at
the rank of Assistant Professor. These positions will commence Aug 1st, 2026
(or soon thereafter).

The School
of Nursing is seeking five dynamic registered nurses to become members of a
progressive, energetic and research-focused department. Teaching in a
concept-based curriculum, the nursing faculty seeks candidates whose philosophy
and commitment are complementary. In addition to teaching and research, the
successful candidates may be required to participate in nursing practice with
groups of students in various practice settings, simulation and/or labs.
Applicants
are expected to demonstrate potential and commitment with regard to teaching,
research/creative/scholarly activities and service to Cape Breton University,
community and profession.
Successful candidates will have:
- An undergraduate/graduate
degree in nursing (i.e., BScN, MN);
- A completed PhD or
other Doctoral degree in a health-related field (preferred) or education; Master’s prepared applicants with a
willingness to complete a Doctoral degree in progress will be considered;
- A minimum of five years’ experience as a
Registered Nurse;
- An active practicing
unrestricted RN license with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (or be
eligible for) prior to commencement of this position;
- Demonstrated
excellence in teaching and mentoring students;
- A commitment to
nursing scholarship and research;
- Experience in
theory-based classroom teaching.
