To support the growing needs of Cape Smokey by executing day-to-day marketing, content creation, guest-experience tasks and operational coordination across the resort. Work in team to help deliver a consistently high-quality digital presence and on-mountain guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Content
- Capture and edit onsite content (short videos, stories, photos) for IG, FB, TikTok and website updates.
- Post daily or near-daily updates: weather, snow conditions, webcams, events, lifts and terrain status.
- Assist with social media monitoring, replying to comment/messages in Smokey tone.
- Support creation of campaign assets (Black Friday, Snow Guarantee, seasonal promos).
- Help maintain a clean, updated image library.
- Support with light video editing (Reels, TikTok pacing, product shots).
Guest Experience & Communication
- Be on the hill regularly: talking to guests, gathering feedback, spotting opportunities for content or improvements.
- Support coordination of events (New Year’s, micro-brewery weekeneds, races, camps).
- Help organize influencers, photographers and partner visits.
- Assist with signage, on-site messaging and making operational updates clear and guest-friendly.
- Prepare simple reports on guest questions, recurring issues and improvements.
Operational Support
- Coordinate with rentals, snow school, patrol and lift operations to gather accurate info for daily posts.
- Maintain timely communication with snowmaking team and Chief Executive Officer regarding snowmaking, grooming, openings and closures.
- Ensure website info (hours, pricing highlights, events) stays correct.
- Help set up small activations on busy days (welcome tables, photo spots, giveaways…).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere Pro
- Strong communication and social-media instincts.
- Confident with a camera/phone; comfortable capturing people, snow, action.
- Ability to edit quick mobile-first videos.
- Customer-facing attitude; not afraid to talk to guests or ask questions internally.
- Organized and reliable – someone who follows through.
- Understanding of ski culture is a plus (snowboarder or skier ideal).
- Energetic, proactive, calm under pressure.
- Loves winter sports and mountain culture.
- Friendly with guests but also efficient and direct.
- Can work independently – doesn’t need micromanaging.
- Enjoys fast-changing days and solving problems.
Availability
- Must be available when things are happening – this is an on-the-ground, event-driven role.
- Expected to work peak days, weekends, holidays and respond quickly when major updates, storms or events occur.
- Flexible schedule; understanding that mountain operations don’t follow a standard 9-5.
