Description

The successful applicant will be cross-trained to work at both Hebridean Motel and Hillcrest Hall Country Inn, as scheduling requires. The position involves a variety of tasks and responsibilities.

Hebridean Motel & Hillcrest Hall Country Inn (Both)

  • Open and distribute incoming electronic mail and other material and coordinate the flow of information internally;
  • Answer enquiries regarding hotel services and registration by email, telephone and in person, provide information about services available in the community and respond to guests' requests and complaints;
  • Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments using the in-house property management system (WebRezPro)
  • Register arriving guests and assign rooms;
  • Compile and check daily record sheets, guest accounts and receipts using computerized system;
  • Present statements of charges to guests and receive payment;
  • Sort laundry and operate washing machines and dryers to clean and dry bed linens, towels and other articles;
  • Treat stained and heavily soiled articles as per property guidelines;
  • Separate and fold laundered articles;
  • Mix and add detergents;
  • Store cleaned items in linen closet

Hillcrest Hall Country Inn (Only)

Day shift:

  • Prepare hot buffet items (use of oven/cooktop); set out and replenish food items for the breakfast buffet, as necessary; clear and re-set tables; wash used tableware and cooking/presentation items; restock buffet and prep light food items for following morning;
  • Tidy dining room, reception room, public washrooms and other public areas (including sweeping/mopping floor)

Evening shift:

  • Prepare food items for breakfast buffet (including light baking/use of oven); ensuring adequate food is ready and available for next day's breakfast buffet;
  • Clean kitchen area including sinks, countertops, utensils and floor;
  • Dust furniture, etc. and maintain tidy outdoor verandah
