The successful candidate will perform the duties outlined in Article 25.1.2 in the CBU Faculty Association Collective Agreement. Topics of focus shall include, but may not be limited to, first year Cell and Molecular Biology labs, first year Organismal and Evolutionary labs, and second year Human Anatomy labs.

Some specific duties to the role are but not limited to:
  • Ensure that correct and safe laboratory procedures are followed by students in the Laboratory, pursuant to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including the proper use of safety glasses, lab coats, and any other appropriate personal protective equipment, when required
  • Perform routine maintenance of laboratory and related equipment, supplies and specimens as required in order that varied experiments can be performed;
  • Prepare and lead the classes in problem solving session (in lieu of laboratories when necessary)
  • Participate in safety inspections of laboratories.
  • Assist the Department during academic advising and specifically with the scheduling of lab sections

Candidates shall, as a minimum requirement, possess a B.Sc. in Biology. An M.Sc. in Biology is preferred. Previous lab instructor experience at the post-secondary level considered an asset but not mandatory.
