Description

Job Title: CBLIP Project Assistant

Approximate start/end date: July 5 – August 30, 2022 (negotiable)

Duration of term: 8 weeks

Location:  Remotely within Inverness/Richmond/Port Hawkesbury

Reporting to the Cape Breton Local Immigration Partnership (CBLIP) Program Manager, or designate, you will assist with the following duties:

  • Review and update the CBLIP Newcomer Service Map.
  • Gather and curate a library of resources related to newcomer settlement.
  • Provide administrative support to CBLIP Council, Immigrant Advisory Table and Working Group meetings.
  • Prepare tools and resources for Cape Breton Welcome Network volunteers.
  • Work with the CBLIP Program Manager to coordinate and promote CBLIP projects and initiatives.
  • Assist with other Partnership initiatives as required.

Additional Opportunities:

  • Cape Breton-wide networking with a broad range of sectors, media relations, Investor relations, stakeholder management, strategic planning, as well as the promotion and marketing of the Cape Breton Partnership brand and other investor brands.
Requirements

Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident to qualify for the funding.

Must-have Skills and Qualifications:

  • Administrative experience.
  • A positive, optimistic attitude.
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal, written) and attention to detail.
  • Solid organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to conduct sound research.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a small team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal direction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Must be a youth between the ages of 15-30 to qualify for the federal funding.

Nice-to-have Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with software and digital tools, i.e. Canva, Acrobat, Zoom, and Buffer.
  • Experience using Facebook Ads Manager for ad creation and analytics.
  • Knowledge of up to date social media trends and practices.
