University Advisors: B.Ed. Practicum

Cape Breton University

The Department of Education at CBU seeks qualified applicants interested in taking on the role of University Advisor to support Bachelor of Education preservice teachers throughout their practicum experience. Applicants must have a B.Ed. with extensive experience teaching in P-12.
University Advisors work closely with the Department of Education at CBU, preservice teachers and their host schools to provide constructive feedback on the performance and progress of preservice teachers. University Advisors are required to make a minimum of three visits to the hosting school where they will complete evaluations in discussion with the preservice teacher and associate teacher.
Due to the nature of the position and the scheduling of preservice teacher observation during the school day, currently employed teachers are not eligible to be considered as university advisors. We welcome applications from recently retired teachers in the Cape Breton area. Applicants are required to travel within Cape Breton using their own vehicle and will be provided mileage.

Applications must be received by September 27, 2021.
