Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides direct Behavior Intervention and Family support services, including screening, assessment, intervention, consultation, knowledge transfer, aftercare and treatment services;
  • Assists the Eskasoni Mental Health Services and ACCESS-OM Teams in developing and implementing youth-oriented programs and activities, including sport/recreation/ cultural/traditional.
  • Develops and implements intervention plans within program guidelines. Provides referrals, support, guidance and problem solving to clients and their families/carers to address issues related to client/family functioning.
  • Provides parenting skill building, emotional support and feedback to clients/families.
  • The Behavior Interventionist helps coordinate Functional Assessments of Behavior and Behavior Intervention Plans that address behaviors and provide a means to help the youth and family succeed and address challenges.
Requirements

Successful Candidates Will Have:

  • A minimum of a Diploma and/or Bachelor’s degree in Behavior Intervention/Child Studies or a relevant related human / social service field and be Registered, or eligible to be registered, with a governing and licensing Board.
  • At least (1) one year relevant experience in the delivery of a full range of behavioral interventions.
  • Take charge attitude with the ability to problem solve;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced growing community health/mental health care facility.
