Are you passionate about fostering welcoming communities? Do you have a knack for working collaboratively to improve community outcomes? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as the CBLIP Program Coordinator at the Cape Breton Partnership!
In this role, you will provide assistance to the CBLIP Program Manager and work collaboratively to improve newcomer settlement outcomes in Unama’ki-Cape Breton by fostering welcoming communities.
Reporting to the CBLIP Program Manager, or designate, you will assist with the following duties:
- Providing administrative support to the CBLIP Council, Immigrant Advisory Table, and Working Groups;
- Supporting the coordination of the CBLIP’s Annual Partner Update Event;
- Supporting the implementation of CBLIP Working Group projects;
- Assisting in data analysis related to the newcomer experience in Cape Breton;
- Supporting CBLIP communications (internal and external);
- Representing the CBLIP on committees and in meetings, as required;
- Supporting the development of funding applications;
- Assisting in the design of CBLIP presentations and reports; and
- Assisting with other CBLIP and Partnership initiatives as required.
Requirements
Must-have Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant experience (i.e. administrative, program coordination).
- Strong English communication skills (verbal, written).
- Solid organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to conduct sound research.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement.
- Team player with a positive attitude and proven interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a small team.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal direction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
Nice-to-have Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience working with software and digital tools, i.e. Basecamp, SurveyMonkey, Zoom, and Teams.
Working Conditions:
- Monday-Friday in an office environment with the option to work from home up to 2 days per week provided you have a strong and reliable internet connection.
- Frequent sitting or standing while using a computer is required.
- Flexibility in working hours may be required as some work may happen outside of regular hours.
- Location: Work location is flexible; the Cape Breton Partnership is an island-wide organization with offices in Sydney, Baddeck, Port Hawkesbury, and Arichat. For the right candidate, we will also consider a remote working arrangement within Unama’ki-Cape Breton.
Details:
- Approximate Start/End Date: October 2, 2023 – March 31, 2024
- Duration/Type: 6-month term; Full-time (35 hours/week)
- Wage: $25/hour
