Title: Service Advisor

Position: Full Time, Permanent

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 8:30AM – 5:00PM (every third Saturday required)

Job Location: Sydney, NS

Compensation Package: $50,000 - $60,000 annually (base salary + 2 bonus programs); 2 weeks’ paid vacation, paid sick time; health, dental, and critical illness benefits after 3 months; advancement opportunities throughout the company, and more!

As the Service Advisor, you are the dealership's front-line client relations and service representative. Your reliable communication skills enable you to explain vehicle diagnosis, recommended necessary service work to prolong vehicle longevity, based on your communication with the technicians.

• Communicate with customers to determine next steps and corrective actions based upon the direction from the automotive department and services required.
• Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers, explaining provisions and exclusions.
• Develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor.
• Prepare repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required upon direction from the automotive department.
• Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle, obtaining customer approval of estimates, and answering questions and concerns.
• Maintain automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
• Communicate with the parts department on parts availability, pricing, and parts delivery.
• Maintain Chrysler Service Advisor training and adhere to Chrysler’s online program and tools.
• Receive and process customer payments.
• Coordinate service needs for fleet customers.
• Manage customer phone calls.

Requirements

• Equivalent work experience within the automotive sector considered an asset.
• Exceptional forward facing customer service skills.
• Excellent technical skills, mechanical knowledge considered an asset.
• Strong communication and relationship building skills and experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
• IT, computer, and data-base experience.
• Valid drivers license with reliable transportation and clean drivers abstract.
