Located in the picturesque village of Ingonish, along the world-famous Cabot Trail, Doucette’s Market has been serving customers for over 30 years. Everything from groceries and health care needs to cakes and special occasion items can be found at Doucette's Market. 

We are seeking a responsible and dependable individual to fill the full-time role of Shift Supervisor. Accomodations are available if needed.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of service attendants. 
  • Provide outstanding customer service to our patrons
  • Ensure a positive shopping experience for all patrons.
  • Open & close the business
  • Maintain stock levels and order merchandise as required
  • Ensure the store is clean, safe and well organized. 
  • Provide direction and feedback to the customer service attendants.
  • Assign sales workers to duties and prepare work schedules.
  • Authorize payments and the return of merchandise.
  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages.
  • Prepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters
  • Assist with the hiring and training of new staff and monitor and report on performance
Requirements
  • High School diploma/GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience with cash and POS systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to handle and resolve issues such as conflicts or complaints
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to lift and carry 15 kg over short distances and ability to stand for extended periods of time.
