The Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce is seeking an outgoing professional to fill a full-time position of Membership Relations and Communications Coordinator. 

The Membership Relations and Communications Coordinator is responsible for planning, creating, and implementing the primary communications of the Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce, as well as the recruitment, retention, and growth of current and future Chamber Members.

Responsibilities: 

  • Interact and lead projects to support all current and future Chamber members
  • Lead and fulfill membership recruitment and retention efforts
  • Provide support for current and future members with integration into Chamber programs and services
  • Develop Communications Strategy and Membership Recruitment Strategy
  • Advise and manage marketing students or interns
  • Create and prepare content for weekly Chamber newsletter/e-blast each week with basic graphic design ability
  • Create media communications including, media advisories, news releases, etc.
  • Edit and proofread all event materials
  • Work with Chamber events coordinator and team on event theme development, event collateral, marketing initiatives, and promotion as needed.
  • Host webinars, Chamber 101 sessions and other member benefit services on a monthly basis 
  • Responsible for all dues collection and follow up: issuing invoicing, member payment reminders, etc
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Business, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or equivalent experience
  • Proven knowledge of communications and marketing ethics and best practices
  • Strong time management and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyze marketing metrics and strategize accordingly
  • Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
